‘Commercialization of the World's Thinnest Ultra-thin Vapor Chamber’ of Toshiba Home Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kamo City, Niigata Prefecture) won the Technology Award at the 2021 Prefectural Governor's Commendation.

Summarize of award-winning products

In recent years, with the advanced feature of electronic devices, the heat value generated by each device has increased, and there has been an increasing need to effectively disperse and dissipate this heat for cooling.
In particular, high-performance mobile products such as 5G smartphones are facing the challenges of adopting high-performance ICs, pursuing thinness and weight reduction, and limiting the implementation for heat-dissipating components. Therefore, in order to insert it in a slight space, we make every endeavor to solve various technical problems and succeeded in commercializing the world's thinnest vapor chamber.

Features of award-winning products

In the past, copper alloy was used as the outer material, but when it was changed to stainless steel with high rigidity, it becomes the vapor chamber not only realize ultra-thinness, but also secure equal or better cooling performance.

  • 1.Thinner (thickness △ 33% thinner than conventional)
  • 2.High strength (+ 17% higher than conventional strength)
  • 3.Low cost (reduces 1/3 material and processing costs compared to conventional products)
